The Hong Kong plans in our database use Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT), H3G/Hutchinson, SmarTone. Where a provider hasn't published it, the table shows "Network not published". Coverage is excellent across Hong Kong, including MTR stations. A Mainland China eSIM won't work in Hong Kong, so choose a Hong Kong plan.
For maps, messaging and light browsing, about 0.3–0.5GB a day, so 3–5GB is enough for 7 days. If you often watch videos or share a hotspot, consider unlimited data. To save money, choose Airalo 50GB · 30 days, the best value per GB (US$0.98 / GB).
Most providers don't list hotspot limits in their details, so please read the plan details before you buy. A travel eSIM is data only and works alongside your own SIM, so WhatsApp keeps working. Calls and SMS to your usual number still go through your own carrier (roaming charges may apply).
Hong Kong and Macau have separate mobile networks, and a Hong Kong eSIM plan usually doesn't include Macau. Before crossing between the two, check your plan's coverage or buy a separate Macau plan. In the same way, a Mainland China eSIM won't work in Hong Kong, so choose a Hong Kong plan.
